Play Event For Families
Play is one of our 4 school priorities this session and it was decided to tackle it head on by having it as a whole school learning focus for all classes during the first term. As part of this focus on the value of Play, P1/2 planned and organised for their families to come into school for a morning of fun play activities. These were based around the Winnie the Pooh stories. Activities included building a river for Tigger, Visiting Eeyore's Gloomy Place, Bounce like Kanga & contributing to a community woodland model. Some lovely feedback was given about the importance of play and learning. Some quotes from our families are below:
"The best form of learning - everything can be learnt through play and this is so evident in your classroom & school."
"I think it is the best way for young children to learn and they thoroughly enjoy it!"
"It really allows them to challenge themselves in a 'safe' climate, allowing them to be creative and have fun!"
